Installation of the Shade Tube
Make sure the shadecloth (fabric) is tightly wound around the tube and that the shade cloth is wound in the proper direction around the tube so that the good side of the hembar faces the proper direction for Regular or Reverse Roll shades as specified for the window you are installing the shade on.
When installed, Regular Roll shades unroll towards the window. Reverse Roll shades unroll towards you, away from the window. The good side of the hembar always faces you whether the shade is Regular Roll or Reverse Roll.

To install the tube: Insert the hexagonal end pin into the hexagonal hole in the Drive-End Bracket. Swing the other end of the tube up under the Idle-End Bracket and lift the shade tube up and around into the slot in the Idle-End Bracket . Pull assembly down to snap the Idle-End Pin into the bracket.
Upper Stop Position
To set the upper stop position, first put the
shade in the desired full up position. Then place a stop bead around
the chain directly below insertion hole in the drive end,
that applies for whether the shade is a Regular or Reverse Roll
shade, and squeeze the stop bead closed with pliers. For Regular
Roll shades place the the stop bead on the chain length closest to the
window. For Reverse Roll shades place the stop bead on the chain length
nearest you.
Lower Stop Position
To set the lower stop position, first put the shade in the desired full down position (1/4" above the sill). Then place a stop bead around the chain directly below insertion hole in the drive end that is opposite the chain length used for the upper stop bead and squeeze the stop bead closed with pliers.
Installing the Chain Retainer
(if required)
The Child Safe Chain Retainer must be installed on all manual shades to prevent possible strangulation. You can either screw it directly to the jamb or screw it to the wall or sill using the base. Attach safety labeling as required by your locality.
Installing Fascia
(regular roll shades only)
To install the optional fascia hook the short leg of the SnapLoc® Fascia into the notch located at the top of each bracket. Push the bottom of the SnapLoc Fascia on to the curved bottom of the brackets until you hear it snap into place and locked onto the brackets.

Versatility of Shade Brackets
IMPORTANT: The hardware kit contains all the components for wall, ceiling and jamb mounting and should be packed with the finished shades, as provided by Soleil / MechoShade, after the chain has been inserted.
Select from the bracket kit the right type of mounting bracket for each window. Soleil brackets are interchangeable and can be mounted three ways; ceiling mounted, wall mounted or jamb mounted. If needed, the brackets can be reconfigured on site by rotating or substituting the back plate of each bracket.
Both Drive-End and Idle-End brackets can be assembled for either left or right handed operation. The examples shown at the right are typical for a left hand operation.
On-site interchangeability of brackets
In some cases, you may need to switch from one type of mounting
to another due to some circumstance at the site. An example of this
would be a shade intended to be jamb mounted that as a result of
no stable mounting surface requires the bracket to be converted
to a wall or ceiling mounted bracket within the window frame. The
type of mounting is interchangeable as long as the distance between
the brackets does not change. To exchange or rotate backing plates,
simply pry the bracket assembly apart by inserting a flat screwdriver
in the slot on the sides of the brackets.
Maintenance
Shadecloth Maintenance
The shadecloth is washable and its is recommended that the shade cloth be cleaned annually. To maintain the shadecloth properly, use a static eliminating chemical on a dry mop to occasionally wipe down the fabric and free it from dust. If the shadecloth should become stained, simply use mild soap and water to "spot" clean.
Changing the Shade Cloth on Soleil SunScreens
Remove the top stop bead and then lower the shade so that the tube is exposed and the spline is visible. The vinyl spline, which is welded to the shade cloth, can be "peeled" off of the tube. A new shade band with a SnapLoc Spline is easily inserted and the stop bead reset.
Soleil Brackets and Chain Maintenance
Shade brackets require no maintenance other than the rare repair of a broken chain. If the chain breaks, it can be repaired by splicing with a chain connector or invisibly spliced by utilizing a pair of bead-chain splice pliers. If a new chain is required, the length you require is twice the height of the overall shade unit less 2 inches. The chain is inserted into one of the insertion holes of the drive end bracket and led around the sprocket. To guide the chain into the offset-position slot, insert a thin plug into the chain slot to be bypassed. To attach one end of the chain to the other, use a clasp which Soleil / MechoShade Systems supplies. Bead stops can be removed from the old chain and reinstalled onto the new chain (follow Set Limit Beads instructions).
